On a Laptop/Computer: or smartphone
- Start the Zoom App but don’t enter the meeting
- Go into settings - Click on the Cog icon (usually top right on the screen)
- Select Audio on the settings dialogue
- Select Advanced (bottom right)
- Enable the ‘Show in-meeting option to “Enable Original Sound” from the microphone’ by ticking the box
- If they're present, check that "Suppress Persistent Background Noise" and "Suppress Intermittent Background Noise" are switched on
- Quit the settings
- When you are in the Zoom meeting, an icon (usually top left) will appear saying “Turn On Original Sound” or “Turn Off Original Sound”
- Make sure it’s turned on and that there are no other wireless devices switched on nearby.
On an iPad:
- Start the Zoom App but don’t enter the meeting
- Go into settings – Click on the Cog icon (usually bottom left on the screen)
- Select Meetings
- Scroll down the many options until you see “Use Original Sound”
- Ensure this is switch on
- Quit the settings
- When you are in the Zoom meeting, selecting the “…” symbol (usually top right) will open a menu – there will be an option to “Enable Original Sound” or “Disable Original Sound”
- Make sure it’s enabled and that there are no other wireless devices switched on nearby.
